Common questions

QR codes can store URLs, plain text, email addresses (with subject and body), WiFi credentials, phone numbers, SMS messages, geographic coordinates, and more. Our generator supports the most commonly used types.
Static QR codes (like the ones generated here) never expire. The encoded information is embedded directly in the QR code image, so it will work as long as the destination — such as the URL — remains active. There's no server involved, so there's no expiry.
For small prints like business cards, 256px is fine. For larger formats like posters or banners, use 512px or higher. As a rule of thumb, aim for at least 300 DPI in your final print — so a 3cm × 3cm QR code at 300 DPI needs at least 354×354 pixels.
Yes! You can set both the QR module color and the background color. Make sure there's enough contrast between them for reliable scanning — a contrast ratio of at least 4:1 is recommended. Avoid light-on-light or dark-on-dark combinations.
No. This tool runs entirely in your browser using JavaScript. Your input data is never transmitted to any server, stored in any database, or shared with any third party. It stays completely on your device.
Download the QR code as PNG, then insert it as an image in your document editor (Insert → Image in Word, or drag-and-drop into most PDF editors). For best results, keep the image dimensions proportional and ensure it's not smaller than 2cm × 2cm in the final print.
